Philosophy of Practice
It all begins with listening, observing and learning. Taking the time to truly understand our patients’ needs is at the core of our caring philosophy. It is the reason that we are referred to so often by other physicians, patients and colleagues throughout the region. Our primary goal is to help our patients feel better quickly with the best and most up to date treatment possible. We use the latest diagnostic techniques to locate the source of a patient’s problem and then recommend a treatment plan to best suit his or her needs.
When surgery is the optimal solution, we are committed to helping our patients recover quickly so they can resume their desired activities as soon as possible. Our skilled physicians use minimally invasive techniques whenever feasible to reduce post-operative discomfort and to speed recovery. Often exercises and physical therapy before surgery, and a customized rehabilitation program following surgery, will be prescribed to expedite recovery.
At the Center for Advanced Orthopaedics, our focus is on wellness over sickness, restoring health so that our patients can go back to doing the things they enjoy most as quickly as possible.
Center for Advanced Orthopaedics was founded in 1981. In 1999, CA Ortho extended the reach of their practice by adding offices in Chestnut Hill and in eastern Montgomery County, where the focus was treating patients with hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder problems.
In 2000, Dr. Dennis McHugh joined the team following the completion of his orthopedic residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He specializes in treating disorders of the hip and knee, with a particular interest in minimally invasive joint replacement surgery.
To ensure that the practice would provide a full array of orthopedic specialties, Dr. Tim Amann joined the Center for Advanced Orthopaedics in 2008 after completing his orthopedic residency and then a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the renowned American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL. As you might expect with this additional training, Dr. Amann's specialty is treating injuries that are unique to athletes.
To best serve the community and provide convenience, the physicians at the Center for Advanced Orthopaedics treat patients in two locations; East Norriton on Germantown Pike and King of Prussia on Mall Boulevard, and through surgical affiliations with Mercy Suburban Hospital, Chestnut Hill Hospital, and Montgomery Hospital.
